Mission Statement:

AAMSHA's aim is to serve as a medium for networking, both professionally and socially, and exchanging information and ideas concerning matters of medical education and training, thus helping members throughout the long years of medical training.

AAMSHA's second aim is to establish medical education and preventive public health programs for the general public in the United States and abroad.

 

AAMSHA's status:  AAMSHA is a non-profit public benefit corporation.  Contributions to AAMSHA are tax deductible under Internal Revenue Service (IRS) code sections 509 (a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).

 

Our Affiliates:

1)  SAMSA:  AAMSHA is affiliated with SAMSA, the Scientific Association of Medical Students of Armenia.  This is a non-profit, non-governmental organization functioning at the campus of Yerevan State Medical University, 2 Korjun St.  375025  Yerevan, Armenia.   SAMSA was incorporated in the Spring of 1994.  SAMSA's first president was Alexander Ter-Hovakimian, M.D., who has stayed on at the Yerevan State Medical University as faculty, and continues as SAMSA's advisor.

2)  AMIC:     AAMSHA is affiliated with AMIC, the Armenian Medical International Committee, headquartered in Montreal, CANADA. amic@cam.org

AMIC is the coordinating body for all Diaspora Armenian Medical Organizations and philanthropic groups who's activities involve medical projects.  AMIC has a permanent office in the Health Ministry of Armenia.

3)  AAMSHA has cordial relationships with local Armenian Medical Societies, such as those in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles.
